Como Cargar El Suppressor de Wilkes y McLean

Instructions

Shut the pump and hydraulics off!

1:

Use the Wilkes and McLean SV-1 Charging Kit.

2:

Remove the red port protectors.

3: Remove the valve cover from the suppressor.
4: Attach the large bronze POL fitting on the one end of the hose assembly to the nitrogen bottle
5: Check to make sure that the swivel hex nut on the top of the suppressor is loose; you should be able to turn it back and forth by hand.  This indicates that the poppet valve on the suppressor is open and ready to accept the nitrogen charge.
6: Connect the schrader valve to the valve stem on the suppressor. Do this by hand tightening the collar on the schrader valve to the suppressor and snugging it down with a small wrench.
7: Since the suppressor valve does not have a core, there is no need to utilize the T handle on the Schrader valve.

8:

Make sure that the brass bleeder valve with the small round dial is closed.

9:

Slowly crack open the valve on the top of the nitrogen bottle.

10: Watch the gauge, when you reach the required pressure level, close the valve on the nitrogen bottle.

11:

To lock the pressure into the suppressor, tighten the swivel hex nut by hand and then gently snug it with a wrench until snug, do not gorilla, over tighten, this valve as that can damage it. This locks the charge into the suppressor.

12:

Open the bleeder valve on the Schrader valve block to vent the remaining gas in the
charging hose. Once all the nitrogen from the hose is vented close the bleeder valve.

13:

Remove the schrader valve from the suppressor with a wrench and then by hand till the schrader valve has separated from the suppressor.

14:

Screw the valve cover back onto the suppressor

Important Notice:

The charging valve used on the Suppressor is an aircraft quality type valve. The valve is not the same core type valve used on accumulators. It is not opened and closed by the "T" handle on the SV1 charging valve. It is opened and closed by the Hex Nut #2. Turn this nut counterclockwise to open the passage to the nitrogen chamber and clockwise to close the passage to the nitrogen. If the nut is not turned, nitrogen cannot enter or leave the Suppressor. During Suppressor operation this nut must always be in the closed position.

Accessories:

In order to check the precharge, it is necessary to have a charging valve and a gauge. A hose is also necessary if additional nitrogen is needed.
